Chinatown is one New York's most famous ethnic neighborhoods many of
the signs are in Chinese and it is like stepping into China. The majority
of buildings you'll find here are the traditional New York walk-ups.
Rents and sales prices vary from some of the cheapest you'll find anywhere
in the city to high and expensive ones.
New York's Chinatown is located between East Broadway, Canal Street,
and Centre Street. Chinatown offers a literally a real taste of the
orient with its excellent assortment of Chinese restaurants. The local
shops and grocers offer some of the widest range of selection at the
some of the best prices in all of New York. Be prepared to bargain for
a better price and it does not hurt to shop around or speak a little
Chinese.
