The famous home of the New York Mets, Shea Stadium is located in Flushing
Meadow Park, Queens New York.
During the planning stage, Shea Stadium was tentatively titled Flushing
Meadows Stadium, after it's location in Queens. Yankees played home
games in 1974 and 1975. NY Jets played home games from 1964 to 1984.
NY Giants used Shea in 1975 while Giants Stadium was being built and
Yankee Stadium was being renovated. Shea's main scoreboard is 186' high
and 75' long- the largest scoreboard in the majors. The movie "3
Men and a Baby" has shots of fans at Shea Stadium doing the Wave.
The original Odd Couple TV series filmed a scene where the Mets turn
a triple play.
