Washington Heights has long been known as the neighborhood of Latin
American immigrants as well as Russian immigrants. Some consider it
the last little secret neighborhood in Manhattan. The apartments are
somewhat larger than many downtown units with rent and selling prices
more reasonable than most of the other Manhattan neighborhoods. This
quite, tree-lined neighborhood has recently been getting a some new
attention. Artists, singers, actors, Broadway crew and stagehands are
now choosing to live in this area.
Washington Heights is almost all residential. Shopping and nightlife
are mainly downtown from the lower 100's to Wall Street
